MEG Wrestling ’88 -’89

From FB:

“A friend posted this today. Still to this day very proud (even though I got destroyed in the first round by some hulking bruiser from Lake Braddock…)”

P.S.

1. They misspelled my name.

2. They guy who ended up winning Regionals at 160 lb. was the same guy I pinned in 53 seconds earlier in the year. I’m sure he was a better overall wrestler than I was, but I sure surprised him in that match. Nevertheless, while I was looking forward to a rematch in Regionals, I got overconfident and beaten by a kid from Freeman I’d crushed earlier in the year. I ended up placing 3rd in a hard fought contest against a kid from Clover Hill to whom I’d lost twice previously, but never got to wrestle the eventual champion from J.R. Tucker.

Life’s funny that way.
